It was organised by Douglas Hirt of Clemson University at the Center for Advanced Engineering Fibers and Films (CAEFF), a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center that comprises a partnership among Clemson University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Clark Atlanta University.
